How to make custom commands and auto-responses on Discord

Make Elarix reply to trigger phrases with random answers and placeholders, give or take roles, and set cooldowns. Free, no coding.

Updated October 2, 2026

Make one

  1. Run /autoresponder add with a trigger (like server ip or !hug) and a reply.
  2. Pick how the trigger has to appear: as a whole word anywhere, anywhere at all, the exact message, or at the start.
  3. See them all with /autoresponder list and delete one with /autoresponder remove.

Make replies smarter

Split several replies with {or} and Elarix picks one at random each time. Placeholders fill themselves in: {mention} and {name} for whoever said it, {target} for the first person they mentioned (or themselves), {args} for whatever they wrote after the trigger, plus {channel}, {server} and {count} (member count).

Try trigger !hug (starts with), reply {mention} hugs {target} 🤗{or}{target} got a big hug from {name}!

Give or take roles

Pick a role and an action (give, take away, or toggle) and saying the trigger does it. Leave the reply empty and Elarix reacts with ✅ instead. Handy for opt-in pings like !events. Roles with staff permissions can't be used, and you can limit a command to members with a certain role.

Cooldowns

Each command has its own cooldown per member: 10 seconds unless you change it, from 0 up to a day.
